My Story Into Intuitive Eating

Four years ago I was introduced to the Intuitive Eating methodology and approach towards improving your relationship with food.

When I first heard about it it was straight from the author, and as she guided me through an exercise where you slowly experienced your food by doing things such as smelling it and putting it down before you ate it, or taking a bite into your food and just letting it sit in your mouth for a few seconds before chewing, I thought it was so ridiculous what she was teaching.

This is crazy though!

I distinctly remember thinking to myself, “It is absolutely insane that this gal can write a book that basically says to eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full and eat what makes you feel good (both short and long term), and people will pay her for it!”.

The Shift

But as the day went on and her session started to touch on things like combatting emotional eating (hello boredom and stress…) and relinquishing yourself from being morally classified as good or bad depending on what you eat, it started to resonate more and more. By the end of the week I was convinced I had to learn more about this paradigm shift in my approach towards food and share it with others, too, who were experiencing the same thing.

So after working on my own journey through Intuitive Eating (which never really ends until we die) I completed the course, coaching sessions, and passed the test in becoming a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.

Apply the knowledge.

Since then, I’ve written a few courses on Intuitive Eating and taken over 100 people through them.

Through this journey I’ve come to love the individual experience and now offer one on one counseling sessions at $100 a month.
